Getting to Ullapool

If you are travelling on a budget, buses are often your best bet of getting here. Bus links from Inverness to Ullapool run a couple times a day, with the journey time taking up to 1 hour & 20 minutes.
Travel times by road are less than you might think. From the south: Inverness is about 1 hour away; Edinburgh and Glasgow, 4 hours & 25 minutes; Skye, 2 hours 20 minutes. From the north: Durness is about 1 hour 40 minutes away; Lochinver, 1 hour.
Ullapool is the main port of connecting to mainland UK to the Outer Hebrides, from Ullapool to Stornaway. Caladonian MacBrayne run a couple of ferries a day, taking 2 hours & 20 minutes journey time.
The nearest ariport to Ullapool, is Inverness airport. Which connects to airports in London, Bristol and Manchester. Located about 10 miles outside of Inverness, it has bus and taxi links to Inverness city center.
